The Vespers is a musical duo based in Brisbane, QLD.
Julie London classics and Shirley Bassey's Bond themes, a bit of Fleetwood Mac and Carly Simon, then Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton: The Vespers blend smooth jazz, mid-century pop and vintage country. The Brisbane duo is a newer pairing of two experienced musicians, and they pitch the set to the occasion, with jazz and the Great American Songbook for a formal or cocktail event, and 60s grooves or a regular covers set when it's casual. The simplest version is voice with guitar or piano. From there it grows into a trio with drums and piano, or a five-piece with keys, guitar, drums and woodwind, and extra singers or even a small dance team can join. They bring a simple PA, though a big venue's own system is better. Between them, the pair have performed on the Queen Mary 2 and at The Tivoli. They're insured and work within 50 km.
