The Upside Duo

Guitar and voice from two Newcastle musicians who each had a working career before they joined forces. Mitchell Cordingley trained at the Newcastle Conservatorium and also runs a solo act built on a loop pedal. Sophia Berlyn is a singer-songwriter who has gigged for years and put out her debut single in 2019. As The Upside Duo they mix well-known names with newer ones, so Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehouse sit beside Amy Shark and Billie Eilish. They can pitch it softer or livelier depending on where the night is heading, which helps at a venue where the crowd changes through the evening. You may have caught them at the Flying Tiger or the Junction Hotel. They travel up to 50 km.
