The Sound Crew is a cover band based in Sydney, NSW.
Songs roll straight into one another at a Sound Crew show, the way they would in a club. The Sydney band uses a DJ, dance grooves and loops to weave tracks into mash-ups, pairing soul and R&B from Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince and James Brown with Beyoncé, Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas, so the floor stays busy. A standard booking is two 50-minute dance sets, and a lounge or jazz set can be added earlier in the evening. The band scales from five players (singer, horn, guitar, bass and drums) up to eight, adding a second horn, keys and the DJ. The Sound Crew grew out of Soul Juice, a Sydney band that played for a decade around Australia and South-East Asia for clients including BMW, Macquarie Bank, Samsung and Coca-Cola. Corporate events, weddings, product launches and big parties are their territory.
