The Smooth Groove is a cover band based in Sydney, NSW.
Choreographed dance moves from the horn section are a signature of The Smooth Groove, a Sydney dance band that brings its own lighting show. They're there to get people involved, singing and dancing, and the cover list is long enough to keep a floor busy until the end of the night. Weddings are a big part of the story. They've played more than 1,000 of them, at places from Hunter Valley wineries to Fort Denison in Sydney Harbour. Corporate work includes theme nights for advertising agencies such as Singleton Ogilvy & Mather and The Pudding Factory, live play-ons and play-offs for award nights, TV and presentation ceremonies, and clients like Canon, Cadbury, Toyota, ING, Royal North Shore Hospital and the Commonwealth Bank. They've held residencies at five-star hotels, resorts and nightclubs, the Hilton's Marble Bar among them, and have performed live on Channels 7, 9 and 10 and on Foxtel.
