The Sitch

Upbeat, laidback or a bit of both: The Sitch shape their music to the situation, which is where the name comes from. For more than a decade the Sydney group has played private events, weddings, markets, street festivals and aged care homes. Gene Mitchell sings and plays guitar with loops, John Sandow is on keys, and Leyne Elbourne sings and plays percussion. Hire the trio, or trim it to a duo. The repertoire reaches from Elvis, Doris Day, Leadbelly and Frank Sinatra through to Talking Heads, Prince, Kylie, Faith No More and Ween, with 70s soul and disco and 80s and 90s pop along the way. They need a PA with two microphones, two extra DIs and at least one foldback, and can bring their own. Police checks, Working With Children Checks and public liability cover are all in place, and they play within 50 km of Sydney.
