The Seratones is a cover band based in Brisbane, QLD.
Early in the evening, while plates are going round, The Seratones play jazz: Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock's Cantaloupe Island. That's the stretch of the night they suit best, music worth listening to over food and drinks, before the tempo climbs and the floor fills. The Brisbane five-piece mixes funk, soul, boogie, rock, reggae, blues and afro-Cuban rhythms, with a pinch of hip-hop, over heavy percussion and layered vocal harmonies. Ballads get a turn too, from Sam Cooke to Steely Dan and Vulfpeck. They bring everything: drums, keys, bass and guitar amps, a 16-channel PA with subs and foldback, LED lighting and a band sign. Clubs, cafes, halls, country shows, festivals, weddings and house parties have all had them in. They'll travel up to 100 km.
