The Rough Housers is a cover band based in Perth, WA.
Upright bass, stand-up drums and a twanging guitar make The Rough Housers sound like a night from another decade. The Perth trio are three friends who love rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, country and blues, and they mix their own songs with classics from the old days. Shaun Street plays upright bass and adds the odd yelp, Kieran Murphy drums standing up and sings lead, and Jason Smith handles the guitar. The whole point is getting people off their seats, even if each song only gives you about two and a half minutes of dancing. It suits a retro party or a pub night with a crowd ready to jive.
