The Retronomes is a cover band based in Brisbane, QLD.
The Retronomes can go loud or quiet. They'll rock the room when it wants a party, or drop back under the conversation when it doesn't. Gary Philpott fronts the five-piece as lead singer, a big voice with plenty of swagger, and behind him Jon Callander, Mario Merlini, Lee Carroll and Scott Shelley supply the grooves and driving rhythm. The five come from different corners of the world. Their set recreates classic hits close to the original sound and mixes them with newer songs, and it borrows pieces from the tribute shows they've staged over the years. They take events of any size, big or small, and the band is based in Brisbane.
