The Iconics

Eleven players take the stage when The Iconics perform. Five of them sing lead, three women and two men, backed by three horns and a rhythm section. The Canberra show band draws on 125-plus songs from seven decades, mostly pop, soul, funk, disco and rock, and you can choose the songs for your night from that list. Think Love Shack, Uptown Funk, I Will Survive, Tubthumping and 9 to 5. For quieter parts of the day there's an acoustic trio, an MC service and a string quartet. A band this size needs planning. Allow three hours to bump in and sound check before guests arrive, a 6 by 5 metre playing area under cover, four separate 10 amp outlets and a spot for the sound desk. Local credits include Floriade, Stage88, the Canberra Southern Cross Club, the Hellenic Club and Saint Malo. They're insured and travel statewide.
