The Groove Tones

Tenor sax out front, with guitar, bass and drums behind it: The Groove Tones play instrumental jazz, soul, funk and ska, and it's a cool sound for a room where people are talking and drinking. If you'd like vocals, a female singer can join the band. Their repertoire reaches from Madness and Maceo Parker to Grover Washington Jr. and Coltrane. Around Sydney they play bars, clubs and parties, and without a singer it stays out of the way of conversation at a cocktail event while still giving the room some swing.
