The Great Emu War Casualties play art rock with a dreamlike, offbeat streak and lyrics that reward close listening. The band has become part of the Australian indie scene, with support from triple j, 4ZZZ, PBS, 2SER, BBC and The Guardian, which featured them in its Ones to Watch. A win in Fender's Player Plus Competition, held in Melbourne, came along the way, and Backseat Mafia included them in its favourite antipodean albums.
