The Gowrie Gals

Three voices in close harmony, costumes and choreography straight out of a wartime troop concert: that's The Gowrie Gals. The Toowoomba trio sings mostly 1940s material, drawing on the Chordettes, the Andrews Sisters and the Boswells, with the odd newer song slipped in for fun. Think Mr Sandman, Shoo Shoo Baby, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. There are two ways to have them. A seated show lasts an hour, while a roving booking stretches over two or three hours as they mingle, pose for photos and pull guests into the songs. Live backing starts with a guitarist, and violin plus double bass can come along if the budget allows. Vintage days, family events, aged care venues and anything to do with trains, planes or military history suit them well. They've played the Darling Downs since 2023, travel nationwide and hold public liability insurance.
