The Foothills Trio

Three voices in close harmony carry most of a Foothills Trio set. Lukas Murphy, Pippa Lester and Tom Greble started playing together during a pandemic lockdown, to cheer up people stuck at home, and kept going once it ended. Their sound is folk: warm melodies, love songs that hit hard, and stories between numbers. Covers get a folk twist, including songs by Tame Impala, Jason Isbell and Lianne La Havas, and there's a good share of carefully written originals too. It's gentle, attentive music, well suited to a wedding ceremony or a dinner where guests will actually listen. The Perth trio travels up to 200 km.
