The Distant South is a cover band based in St Kilda, VIC.
The Distant South play their own songs, alt-country with blues, folk and a western streak running through it. Stringed instruments carry the melodies over a steady rhythm section, and the lyrics matter as much as the playing. Expect songs with a story in them and some emotional weight. The St Kilda group fits a bar gig, a winery afternoon or a gathering where the band is part of the reason people turned up.
