The Clever References

Ash sings and plays guitar, Sam handles synth and vocals, and The Clever References build their alt-rock around the pair. Kath adds keys, flute and vocals, Janset plays bass and sings, and Vidusha is on drums and percussion, so almost everyone is on a microphone. The band is known for energetic shows and for its own songs, with CAN YOU HELP ME COPE AND SEETHE and Tell Ben Kate among them, and they're built on witty lyrics, sharp guitar riffs and an indie feel. That makes them a better match for a gig night or a party full of music lovers than for a formal dinner. They're based in Brunswick, Victoria.
