About
The Bus That Rocks is a tribute show based in Brisbane, QLD.
The premise is a busload of music legends on tour, every one of them convinced they're the best act on board, and in the world. The Bus That Rocks turns that rivalry into a two-and-a-half-hour Brisbane tribute show, with costumes, characters, comedy and big vocals. The first half opens with The Turtles and the Beach Boys, then brings on Johnny Cash, Connie Francis, Frank Ifield, Petula Clark, Nancy Sinatra and J.O.K., before Dusty Springfield delivers Son of a Preacher Man. After the break come Sonny and Cher, with Sonny playing the clown, then Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, Billy Thorpe and Demis Roussos. Roy Orbison and k.d. lang join forces for Crying, and the Righteous Brothers bring Unchained Melody. Most of it comes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and it's aimed at people who know these songs word for word.
