Temperamental Machine

Riffs come first with Temperamental Machine. The Gold Coast three-piece pulls from surf, punk, doom and psychedelic rock, and what comes out is raw and sludgy, surf punk with real weight behind it. They're chasing tone more than polish. A set swings between two moods: long melodic stretches that drift off somewhere, then thick, chunky riffs that drag the room straight back. So it's two shows in one, and it belongs in a bar or at a gig where the crowd has come for heavy guitar music and wants it played at full strength.
