Stephen Lovelight

Stephen Lovelight plays old Mississippi Delta blues the careful way, with slide and fingerpicking styles that go back to Robert Johnson and Skip James. He also works up fingerstyle guitar arrangements of contemporary songs, which gives a set somewhere to go once the blues has had its turn. He moved up from Melbourne to Northern NSW and has since played venues all along the coast. For a relaxed afternoon at a bar, a long lunch or a garden party around Byron Bay, a solo guitarist with that kind of touch holds attention without shouting for it.
