Sonic Road is a cover band based in Melbourne, VIC.
Sonic Road play soul classics, plus the classics with some soul in them, from the 60s through to the 90s. Out front is Sharon McKenzie, who has been singing professionally for more than 15 years and pairs a big vocal range with plenty of humour. Along the way she has performed with or supported The Platters, The Drifters, Suzannah Espie, Grand Wazoo and James Black. Behind her, Anthony Calleja plays guitars, Frank Umana is on piano and keys with more than 40 years of playing, and Umberto 'Bert' Stringa has been on drums and percussion for over 35. The Melbourne four-piece suits a crowd of mixed ages, and they take venue bookings, weddings, corporate events and private functions.
