Sirens Dance

A school hall turns into a Bollywood stage when Sirens Dance visit. Their Bollywood and Beyond workshop opens with a live dance performance, moves into an interactive lesson on India's geography and traditions, then gets the students on their feet to learn some steps. It works across the school years, from the youngest classes up to seniors, and makes a ready-made centrepiece for Multicultural Day. Artistic Director Ramona Lobo leads the Sydney company, and her choreography fuses classical Indian dance with Western, Latin and African styles. The troupe's work has appeared on Dance Boss and So You Think You Can Dance. Beyond schools, they take special events where young people make up the audience.
