Sharon Davis sits at the piano and sings, keeping to jazz standards for the most part and dropping in the odd other song for spice. Think Autumn Leaves, Georgia On My Mind, God Bless the Child, Blue Moon and As Time Goes By, played so they swing. It's music for a ceremony, a restaurant, a cocktail bar or background at a function. She grew up playing a Steinway that was already 100 years old, studied at WAAPA in Perth, and has since played in Istanbul and Tokyo as well as Perth and Melbourne. She'll play the venue's acoustic piano if it's been tuned within the last month, or bring a digital one. Ask about a duo, trio or quartet with drums, guitar or sax. Melbourne is home, she'll travel 50 km for a gig, and she carries public liability cover.
