Salvador Diaz

Salvador Diaz sits behind the drums, but he also produces and makes beats, and his playing takes in all three. He's a Melbourne drummer who performs with several projects around the city. His own is OVNI Collective, where he plays original music and explores jazz improvisation with a line-up that changes from night to night. The musicians he brings in draw on soul, hip hop, breakbeat and dance, jazz and rhythms from around the world. This is groove-led, exploratory music, best for a bar, a gallery night or a party where the crowd likes hearing something new take shape.
