Salty Jez is a musical soloist based in Sunshine Coast, QLD.
One guitar, a loop pedal and some beatboxing is all Salty Jez uses to build the sound of a much bigger band. The mix is rock n roll, blues and reggae from the 60s to now, and the room decides the volume: quiet background music early in the night, then louder rock once people want to move. A long stint working in hospitality left Jez tired of hearing the same songs played the same way, so familiar tracks get reworked and a few less expected ones turn up. Think Little Wing, Roadhouse Blues, Under the Bridge, Is This Love and My Happiness. All the set-up asks of you is a power outlet, and a roof overhead when the forecast turns wet. Gigs within 100 km of the Sunshine Coast are all on the map for Salty Jez.
