Rubatuba is a musical duo based in Conondale, QLD.
Happy music is how this duo gets described, and the aim is simple: toes tapping, toddlers jigging and older guests remembering the tunes. Accordion is part of the kit, and the 17 pieces listed roam from France to the Balkans and Ireland, with Miserlou, a Tarantella, Sous le Ciel de Paris, a Romanian Hora, Happy Nigun and Irish Washerwoman sets among them. Family days, markets and festivals are the natural home. At a wedding the pair can switch to harp and stick bass, or travel tuba, for the solemn moments, and piano is on offer as well. Sets run 30 to 40 minutes, three of them inside a three-hour window. Outdoors, they'll want shade and a safe spot for instrument cases. Home is Conondale in Queensland. Public liability cover is in place, and gigs within a 200 km drive are on the table.
