Rob Saunders is a singer based in Surfers Paradise, QLD.
Harmonica and acoustic guitar carry most of a Rob Saunders show, and the songs come with stories attached. He plays folk, blues harp and Americana from the great songwriters of the 60s, 70s and 80s: Harvest Moon, Father and Son, Cortez the Killer, Catch the Wind, Don't Think Twice and Bad Moon Rising among them. The mood swings between foot-tapping folk rock and quieter ballads. For thirty years he's played folk festivals, markets and local bars. There's a four-piece option with bass, electric guitar and drums. He can bring a PA for gigs up to 200 people, plus a 3 x 3 metre marquee for small outdoor jobs like markets. A full band wants a covered stage of at least 6 x 3 metres. He's insured, registered with Folk Alliance Australia and as a Gold Coast Council busker, and travels up to 300 km from Surfers Paradise.
