Rhubi Rae Winter is a fire dancer and flow artist who tells a story through movement, with props that range from silk fans to swords. She performs with Elemental Entertainment, where she's also a manager, and has performed up and down the east coast at festivals, private parties, community events and company functions. For roving work she arrives 45 minutes early, and an hour early for fire acts, to check in with your coordinator and look over the space. Most shows need at least 3 by 3 metres with 2 metres of clearance overhead, and an XL fire show needs 5 by 6 metres. Her fire kit includes blankets, wet towels, an extinguisher and first aid, and the riskier fire work needs a trained safety spotter. She works out of Melbourne and goes nationwide. She's insured for public liability and holds a Working With Children Check.
