Rein Mali is an R&B singer based in Sydney, NSW.
Early 2000s R&B and modern neo-soul shape Rein Mali's sound, and he sings both originals and covers. The set list takes in Brown Sugar and Lady by D'Angelo, No Diggity, Let's Groove, Bobby Caldwell's What U Won't Do, Daniel Caesar's Get You and Jorja Smith's On My Mind. Triple J and CADA have both played his music nationally, and he has won WAM Song of the Year. Line-ups run from solo to duo, trio or full band, and he shapes each show to the event, given enough notice to plan it. That smooth, soulful style suits weddings, cocktail events and private parties where the mood matters. For set-up he needs one or two power points near the performance area, a performance area of 3 x 3 metres or more, close loading access and, for daytime outdoor gigs, shade or shelter for the gear.
