Rachel K is a musical soloist based in Mackay, QLD.
Rachel K is a one-woman band from Mackay, and a set can move from an easy-listening afternoon session to full-on rock without changing performer. She sings and plays lead and rhythm guitar, banjo, keyboards and blues harmonica, over drum and bass backing tracks that fill the sound out like a full band. The songs lean on Aussie pub rock, blues, reggae and some country, plus newer hits: Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, Amy Winehouse, Van Morrison, INXS, George Ezra and The Beatles among them. Requests are possible with enough notice. More than twenty years of gigs sit behind the act, and she brings a high-powered PA big enough for a large venue, along with her own instruments and transport. All she needs is power, a fold-out rectangular table and a covered stage. She travels nationwide.
