Pryde

Only two musicians play in Pryde, yet the sound comes out band-sized. Pryde build each song live with a looper, layering drums, bass and organ, then adding horn and string parts on top, so what starts as a duo ends up sounding much bigger. The set runs from older hits like Hit the Road Jack and Aretha Franklin through Bon Jovi, Survivor and Summer of '69, and up to Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Gnarls Barkley. Watching the loops build is part of the show, so they work well at a venue or party where people will look at the stage as well as listen. They're based in Brisbane.
