Paper Jane

Paper Jane play their own songs, Americana and folk full of country heartache, with tight grooves and uplifting group harmonies. The lyrics are Australian stories about life after first loves and happy endings. Buck Edwards sings lead with a voice that swings from powerful to fragile, Dom Redfern plays bass and sings, Scott Jansen adds gypsy fiddle and Michaela Burke is on drums, cracking jokes between songs. The Castlemaine band released their first record in 2013. Their second LP, Across the Reservoir, put them on the 2022 Music Victoria Awards shortlist in the regional act category. They're best at a listening gig, a festival or a regional venue where people have come to hear original music.
