Ovrnight

Seven players make up Ovrnight, a Melbourne collective that won't stick to one genre. Soul, hip-hop, reggae and jazz all go into the mix, and the result moves around a lot, loose and energetic rather than polished and predictable. The band comes out of Fitzroy, calls the city Naarm as well as Melbourne, and treats a gig as something the audience shares in. They're best where a crowd wants to move to something a bit different from the usual function covers.
