OOZ

Roots reggae on an acoustic guitar, with the rest of the band built live on a loop pedal. That's how Ooz plays. He lays down bass guitar and percussion beats first, layer by layer, then sings over them, so the sound gets fuller as each song goes. The feel stays easy and unhurried, though there's enough lift in it to pull people up out of their chairs. He draws on a large repertoire of well-known songs and likes to slip in the classics nobody has heard in years. For a long, relaxed party, that pacing is the appeal.
