One Drop is a reggae band based in Cairns, QLD.
Six players, three keyboards and a steel pan give One Drop a full, rolling reggae sound. The Cairns band mixes its own songs, such as Hit U with My Music, My People and Teach Them, with covers from the players they've supported, including Lucky Dube, O'Yaba and UB40. So a night might run from House of Exile and Together as One to Please Don't Make Me Cry, alongside Peter Tosh's Equal Rights, Pressure Drop and 54-46 from Toots and the Maytals, and Alpha Blondy's Cocody Rock. It's steady, warm dance music for an outdoor party, a festival crowd or a tropical wedding. Their stage plot covers three vocal mics on booms, a mic for the steel pan, DI for the keys and acoustic guitar, bass and guitar amps, a drum kit, three foldbacks and two side fills. They'll travel nationwide.
