Nota Bene is a musical duo based in Melbourne, VIC.
Brazilian music sets the mood with Nota Bene, a Melbourne duo whose sound is easy on the ear but clever underneath. Alongside songs such as Mas Que Nada, Corcovado, Wave and How Insensitive, they give jazz standards a Brazilian lilt, so Autumn Leaves, Fly Me to the Moon, The Shadow of Your Smile and Blue Bossa all turn up. Vocalist Cassie Elliget comes from the Mornington Peninsula, studied voice for a Bachelor of Applied Music at Box Hill Institute and has sung in many musical theatre productions. The duo played the Mornington Winter Music Festival in 2018. Picture it over a long lunch or during wedding drinks, with the conversation carrying on beneath it. They bring their own equipment, need only a power connection and travel up to 50 km.
