Nina Simone Tribute

This is theatre as much as music. Lisa Schouw, once the voice out front of Girl Overboard, wrote and stars in The Other Woman, a one-woman show about Nina Simone, with Peter Bailey as musical director. The story of Simone's life, highs and hard times alike, runs between the songs, and the set takes in Four Women, I Loves You Porgy, House of the Rising Sun and My Baby Just Cares for Me. Its first run was at Kabaret Voltaire at Bar Me. It went on to sell out at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2004 and at the Opera House Studio in Sydney the following year. Book it for a seated audience that has come to listen: a cabaret evening, a theatre program or a dinner where the music is the main event. The production is based in Sydney.
