A chair, a power point and a small patch of floor are all Nigel Date needs to play. The music is instrumental guitar: jazz, gypsy swing, South American and European pieces, the great American songbook, reworked pop songs and original compositions. It's classy background for a dinner, a cocktail hour or a garden reception, and outdoors it can be played acoustically, as long as the spot is out of direct sun. A whole working life as a professional guitarist has taken Nigel to festivals around the world, cruise ships, a circus band, pubs, cafes, bar mitzvahs and corporate functions for visiting dignitaries, plus studio work for albums, TV and radio. Want more than one player? Nigel can bring in musicians from around the country, from vocalists and bass to accordion, violin and horns, including a gypsy jazz ensemble.
