Mikaela & Friends is a cover band based in Hobart, TAS.
Mikaela Nichols has a big voice, and in Mikaela & Friends she uses it two ways. For a relaxed room there's sultry jazz and blues: Fever, Georgia, At Last, Walk On By. Once people want to move, she belts out pop, rock and dance songs like Shallow, Nutbush, Dancing Queen, Blinding Lights, Sex on Fire and Rolling in the Deep. The Hobart band is usually a trio, with Greg Souter on guitar and Jeremy Sibson on drums and percussion. For a fuller sound they can grow to four, five or six players by adding bass, sax, keys or extra singers. A standard booking is three sets. The PA is theirs; your side is a power point and somewhere dry for the gear. Most of their bookings come from venues and company functions, within 50 km of home.
