Michael Scriha

Rock, pop, jazz and alternative all feed into Michael Scriha's solo sets, which fits a singer and guitarist whose music degree at CQCM covered both jazz and pop. The Beatles, John Mayer, Grinspoon and The Offspring are among his influences, and he loops and writes his own songs as well. Wendy Matthews has had him as a support act, and he's played with Johnny Rhythm and the 60s Project and at Sofar Sounds Brisbane. Mackay born and raised, he's working the local music scene there now. Pubs, weddings and corporate gigs make up most of his calendar, and ten years of them have given his guitar playing an easy, fluid feel. He travels up to 50 km.
