Michael Arvanitakis

Cello one hour, sitar the next. Michael Arvanitakis is a multi-instrumentalist who sings and plays guitar and piano, and he can shape a booking around one instrument or several. Options include classical and contemporary cello, vocal covers and his own songs on guitar or piano, jazz piano, and sitar, most of them with live looping if you want layers. He studied jazz double bass at the VCA and learned sitar from masters in Varanasi, and he has recorded and performed with Gotye, The Teskey Brothers and Dallas Frasca. Sets run up to an hour each, and you can book as many as the day needs. He brings his own sound gear and needs an hour to set up. Based in Warburton, he travels nationwide, plays solo or with other musicians, and holds public liability cover.
