Melly Mellody is a musical soloist based in Brisbane, QLD.
Melly Mellody's aged care concerts come with song books, because the whole point is singing along. She performs classics from the 1920s to the 1970s in a classy vintage style, and for retirement villages she can lean towards the 50s, 60s and 70s. Happy hours, Christmas in July, and Mother's and Father's Day are regular themes, and she'll also sing one-on-one for residents who'd rather stay in their rooms. Beyond aged care, Melly fronts a band that runs from an acoustic duo up to a 16-piece big band, drawing on players from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Think Etta James, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles, Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin, plus vintage-style takes on Adele, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson.
