Mel & Allen Music is a musical duo based in Wollongong, NSW.
A wedding with Mel & Allen Music can start before the ceremony and finish after the first dance. The acoustic duo plays guests in, handles the aisle, signing and exit songs, keeps going through canapés, then plays the reception, where sets usually run 45 minutes. Before the day there's a music questionnaire, so your requests make the list. Their covers lean towards soul, pop and R&B: Hotline Bling, I Try, If I Ain't Got You and Drunk in Love sit beside Brown Eyed Girl, Dreams and Drops of Jupiter. The PA comes with them, speeches can use their microphone, and background music fills the breaks between sets. Give them a power point and an hour's access to set up, plus a covered, dry spot outdoors if rain is forecast. Wollongong is home, and gigs within 100 km of it are on the table.
