Medha

Medha's repertoire is Indian music from start to finish: semi-classical pieces, devotional bhajans, ghazals and songs from Hindi cinema, with guitar on some numbers. The mood can be gentle and reflective at a dinner, or warmer and more interactive at a celebration. For a small gathering it can become a mehfil, where guests sit close and listen. Ghazals from the Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali repertoire sit in the mix, and requests can be talked through ahead of time. Sets run 30 to 40 minutes or 45 to 60 minutes. Smaller bookings get Medha's own mic, speaker and laptop. Allow a 2 m by 2 m spot by a power point, a small table, cover outdoors and access about 45 minutes early. Based in Carseldine, Medha travels up to 100 km and also runs Gharana by Medha, a place to learn Indian classical music.
