Matt Toms plays guitar the way a good pub gig should feel: honest and unfussy, with the next song picked for the people in front of him. That could mean smooth tunes for cocktails, pub classics, roots, reggae and surf songs, or a pop song nobody's heard in years. He likes putting old and new side by side, so Spacey Jane might follow Stevie Wonder, or Cage the Elephant might come after Willie Nelson, with Bowie, Bob Marley, Jack Johnson and Hendrix never far away. He brings more than 30 years of experience and decades of gigs along Australia's east coast. Home base is Hobart.
