Loops are the trick in Matt Lister's show. He sings and plays guitar on his own, recording and layering parts live so a single performer builds a fuller sound as the song goes along. Since 2019 he's been working the Sydney wedding and bar circuit, which is good training for reading a room. He borrows from a wide spread of genres and shifts the set to suit the mood, so the music can sit gently under a wedding reception early on, then pick up once the bar crowd starts to warm.
