Matt Black is hard to pin to one kind of gig, and that's the point. The Bundaberg singer can play soft acoustic instrumentals in Spanish, classical and world styles for a restaurant or lounge bar, then switch to pub rock, club favourites or his own songs. For a bigger sound he uses loops and custom backing tracks, and his guitar playing runs from shredding lead to bluesy feel. His voice covers several octaves and can sound husky or clean. He can serenade a table early and have the dance floor pumping by the end of the night.
