Mark Tippett

Mark Tippett draws caricatures on the spot, roving through a wedding, engagement party or birthday so guests go home with a cartoon of themselves. At a wedding that doubles as the bonbonniere. He trades as Tippettures, and the drawing comes out of a long career as a commercial artist: layout and advertising design, product drawings for a major retailer's newspaper and catalogue ads, then ten years of pictorial headings and diagrams for magazines. Caricature has always been his passion, and he sees it as a kind of social commentary. Beyond live events he takes commissions for portraits to frame, hand-drawn gift cards and posters for a colleague's retirement or parental leave, and end-of-season pieces for cricket and footy clubs. He's based in Sydney.
