Marcia Hines

When Fox Studios Australia and Stadium Australia opened, Marcia Hines sang at both. That's the kind of occasion she suits: an opening, a launch or a gala where the performance is a centrepiece rather than background. Her records and concerts have reached audiences right across Australia and New Zealand, and she tours with her own band. In 2001 she marked three decades as a professional singer with DIVA, released as an album and as a book. Television added another side, with a seat on the Australian Idol judging panel that had her mentoring contestants as well as assessing them. She's based in Sydney.
