Songs you know but rarely hear a band play are the draw with LOCO LOVE and THE FURRY CARDIGAN. The Byron Bay duo, with a trio option, calls its sound Nouveau Retro, and most of it comes from the 50s, 60s and 70s. A set might go from Johnny Cash's Big River to Blame It on the Bossa Nova, Brand New Key by Melanie, Big Yellow Taxi and Carolina in My Mind. Both are multi-instrumentalists who sing lead and harmony, and they can go from quiet background songs to sing-alongs and groove numbers as the mood turns. Custom parody and comedy songs are a specialty. They can also MC, play recorded break music and bring a PA with a mic for speeches, or run on battery power at a remote site. Allow an hour to set up and 40 minutes to pack down. Travel is up to 200 km.
