Lionheart Loy

Lionheart Loy is the stage name of Mike, an Adelaide one-man band who starts a night gently and finishes it loud. A typical three-hour booking is three 45-minute sets with 15-minute breaks, and he can stretch to four hours. Early sets stay relaxed at a volume people can talk over. By the last one, loops, drum pads and bass lines have him sounding like a full band, and the aim is a busy dance floor and an encore. The music is 70s, 80s and 90s hits, Aussie rock and country classics, played on guitar, resonator guitar, keys and harmonica. A second mic is on hand for speeches and karaoke at private parties, and he can bring lighting, a smoke machine and a 3 x 3 marquee. He arrives an hour early, or two and a half for a wedding, and needs one power point. Public liability insured, he travels statewide.
