Lima Brightlove started out as a classical percussionist, and she can still hold her own in a symphony orchestra. Behind the decks, that training turns into a DJ who's comfortable jumping between a very long list of styles. Pride classics, hip hop and pop anthems sit next to Motown, funk and disco, and a set can also wander through indie dance, alt-rock, country, retro, breaks, house, drum and bass, upbeat folk, jazz, swing and some ambient chill. So a crowd with wildly different tastes is exactly where she earns her keep. Her floors are built around songs almost everyone loves, with no apology for the cheesy ones. She's a Perth DJ with a confident, sparkly presence on stage.
